This is the blog of Ewan Morris, a historian based in the Wellington region of Aotearoa New Zealand. I have a particular interest in how societies remember and commemorate the past, and in cultural contestation over symbols. I am a member of the Professional Historians’ Association of New Zealand/Aotearoa (PHANZA) and the New Zealand Historical Association (NZHA).
